Joy of joys! Fidel Castro is almost certainly dead. I just got the call from my mom, who woke me up. This is exactly how it’s supposed to go down. Castro’s personal secretary has read on TV a message allegedly from Fidel saying that he will (very conveniently) be “in recovery” from surgery for weeks and his brother Raul is taking power. I’ve got to see if I can catch a flight to Miami to join the celebration. More on what this all means later. For updates from Miami, check out Babalú Blog.
