This is an aside titled 'Tie die' dated 6/4/08

After recently reading Jonathan Rauch’s excellent Government’s End, I’ve been pretty depressed about the perpetual motion machine that is rent-seeking in Washinton. But via Jacob Grier today I got some of the happiest news I’ve had in a long time: “After 60 years, the Men’s Dress Furnishings Association, the trade group that represents American tie makers, is expected to shut down Thursday.” This is a win for liberty on soooo many fronts.
